摘要1.ミヤコグサCSPの構成因子であるCCaMKはCYCLOPSとの相互作用を通じて根粒器官形成と感染糸形成の両方を制御するキー因子であると考えられた。またその恒常的活性型タンパク質をコードする遺伝子の導入実験により、CASTOR/POLLUXをはじめCCaMK上流のCSP遺伝子が共生菌感染シグナルをCaシグナルに変換することのみに関与し、根粒菌感染経路の構築には必須でないことが強く示唆された。これらの結果に基づき、共生初期のシグナル伝達経路についてモデルを提起した。CSPイネオルソログのひとつOsCCaMKの変異体では菌根共生がほとんど見られないことを示した。ミヤコグサから感染糸構築に関わるAlb1遺伝子を単離し、さらに新規Fix-変異体2種類の原因遺伝子候補を特定した。ダイズの根粒菌に対する親和性因子Rj4のマッピング及びダイズFix-変異体のスクリーニングを開始した。2.トマトモザイクウイルス (ToMV) の複製複合体前駆複合体に含まれる宿主因子候補を同定するとともに、ウイルスの増殖そのものを抑制する新規の宿主抵抗性遺伝子Tm-1を単離しその作用機作を解明した。ToMVの可溶性複製タンパク質が、二本鎖small interfering RNA (siRNA) に結合してsiRNAの2'-O-メチル化とRNA-induced silencing complex形成を抑制する可能性を示唆する結果を得た。タバコN遺伝子によるタバコモザイクウイルス(TMV)抵抗性でサリチル酸系の自己防御活性化はMAPキナーゼ経路とは独立していることを温度シフト実験により明らかにした。3.イネいもち病菌の感染補助因子候補である分泌型カタラーゼ遺伝子を同定しその破壊株を作成した。また熱安定性感染補助因子は日本晴に非親和性の菌系にも存在し菌の成長に影響がなくイネに作用すると考えられることを明らかにした。イネいもち病菌遺伝子破壊とその発現モニターを同時に行えるベクターを開発した。イネのキチンエリシター受容体CEBiPを改変し、キチン応答性を操作することに成功した。白葉枯病菌のエフェクターの同定を進め、総計34種類のエフェクター候補遺伝子を同定した。
